Erik Moll - Laid back folk music from Norway, memorable choruses, a real inspiration.
The Levellers - probably the UKs biggest commercial folk-rock band in recent times. Drove me to play music through my Teenage years. Nice one!
Bleeding Hearts - Hard-edged folk rock outfit. 10 years of highs and lows for me - they've got a new fiddle player who loves his reverb - still sounds good to me. Check 'em out.
Across the Border - no longer up and running as they once were - but you can still download great tracks from this top German punk-folk outfit. Thanks to Jochen for many gigs, and for providing a sofa for the night when there was no where else to sleep. Top band, top bloke.
Lack of Limits - Lighter folk rock. Check out Marco the man who can play didgeridoo on a vacuum cleaner. These are the true travelling musicians, who left my doors and windows open when the visited, and wanted to dig a fire pit in the lawn. Top notch German travelling folk.
Shane Macgowan and The Popes - Proper Irish.
